The gun control laws in Oregon and California are vastly different where one state is stricter than the other state. There are certain types of guns illegal to possess in both states and the waiting period and limit on who owns a gun that require people to meet. Also California doesn’t allow open gun whereas Oregon allow. There will be consequence served if the laws are abused. First of all, California has more illegal guns that can’t be possess by anyone or the military. The assault rifles is one of the guns that has banned in California where as Oregon hasn’t banned or regulate the weapon. In California, there are rules on the size of firearm that can’t be possess depends on the type of weapon; the shotgun has to be less than eighteen inches, the rifle has to be less than sixteen inches and any bullet with explosive agent has to be less than twenty-six inches. These rules doesn’t appear in Oregon. Although, Oregon requires a background checks while purchasing the gun and a permit in order to open carry a concealed handgun. California has restricted rules of who may own a gun; people who has committed a crimes will not possess one. There is a time limit on how long you can’t possess gun depends on the type of crime you committed. Those with felony charges will not possess one for their lifetime, including mentally illness people.
