Gun Laws in American have greatly evolved in recent years but unfortunately guns are still a colossal issue in today’s society. When the issues related to current gun laws are addressed, one common response from current gun law supporters is, Guns do not kill people, people would kill and hurt other people regardless of being able to easily access a firearm. Although everyone is responsible for their actions, easily accessible guns make it much more tempting for an already mentally unhealthy, violent person to be pushed further in a negative, harmful direction. Our children and young loved ones should never be put in danger, especially by neglectful laws that are easily controlled. Children’s minds are still developing and often children and young adults make decisions out of a perceived necessity or a strong feeling, instead of looking at the big picture in the way that most intelligent adults are able to. A young adult may not be able to see the great amount of happiness and life they have ahead, regardless of their current state of unhappiness due to being bullied or harassed by peers. Many children and young adults, who have suffered through trauma either at home or in school, are susceptible to suicidal thoughts. These thoughts should remain just that, thoughts and hopefully the child or young adult can recognize them as a sign to seek help. These children should not be tempted by a firearm that has been left in visible sight or in an easily accessible space for them to use at any time. Teenage suicide is a major issue in America, and our gun laws should reflect that. Teenagers in America are bullied and emotionally tortured to the point of severe mental breakdowns, but for reasons unknown to most, the government has not felt a pull to
