Do you want to change the written Constitution that we have followed since the day the United States of America was born? Do you think taking guns away is going to stop crime? Crime has been around before we ever had guns. Many people believe guns give them a sense of safety (American Militia Association). Do you want that sense of safety taken away? In many more ways guns should still be legal but more restrictions should be placed on them to prevent gun violence, American deaths and to follow our second amendment. Restrictions can be a big part in the way you can buy guns today with making some guns illegal in the USA.

At gun stores throughout the U.S. people must go through a background check. They must answer questions like, have you ever had a felony or have you been submitted to a mental institution. After that the gun store sends in a request and the FBI runs through a criminal background check on the person (CNN-Gun Background Checks). But, at gun shows it is easier to buy a gun. Criminals can easily buy a gun without a background check leading to many crimes. This issue must change by changing the law with gun shows and forcing gun shows to check backgrounds of every person that purchases a gun from a gun show. Many cities are making big steps toward this like Chicago, New York City, Washington D.C., and many more large cities that are making more restrictions on guns. It is different though in smaller towns.
At gun shows people can buy a gun at a cheaper price than going to Scheels or Dick's where a gun can range from $200 to $900 for a gun (Dick's Sporting Goods). With lower prices and background checks not used in gun shows makes it super easy for people to buy a gun at a low price and not taking that long background check.
