The heart of the district has grappled with a surge of the death of African American teens that are killed before they are graduate high school, go to college, or raise a family, they are leaving their parents hollering at the top of their lungs at their funeral about the unsolved murders. Often enough many parents in D.C. are losing their children live to unnecessary gun violence, gang affiliations, and sex trafficking life. As a D.C. native and an African American teen in the District of Columbia area, I believe that it's my obligation to help out my city in need of help and a voice of justice. After I graduate from college I would like to open up a non-profit organization where I can help parents who lost their children to unfortunate causes and provide emotional support and the District of Columbia Police Department support to bring justice to families and alleviate violence. My non-profit organization will allow at-risk teens to receive counseling that will hopefully prevent teens from dying or getting badly injured. The District of Columbia police department and I will be working closely with families of victims that lost their children or families to gun violence. In addition, non- profit organization will provide parents of victims that there are people who are for you and will provide you emotional support through a rough patch in their life. In addition, I will provide financial support by providing parents with free DNA or any crime-analysis support because the cost of hiring a trained forensic analyst is not only difficult but its expensive for families with numerous costs to attend to. I will like to remove the burden for families who struggle to find money to cover the expensive cost of a forensic
