Protests are a big part of the world people live in today. They have been around for centuries. How people handle their protests, is a great factor on how others respond to what they are hearing from the protesters. If someone were to use a bad method, more than likely they would not be taken seriously, and their views would not be taken into consideration. That is why having good methods can lead to others hearing what they have to say, and possibly taking sides in what they believe in. There have been many people who have protested excellently, and had other join them in their efforts. Gandhi and Malcolm X were two of these people, and were effective in what they did. The protesters of today have other methods, that have worked, and also have not. Gun control is a big topic as of late, due to the unfortunate shootings and killings that have been happening lately. Many current gun protests are brought on because of recent public shootings, such as the Parkland shooting, and the Vegas shooting. They talk about the most recent Parkland shooting, and the protests that arose from that tragic incident. The main goal of these students, was to make change so that something like that would never happen again. The article says, “These Parkland students have already been able to make change that no one else could do for decades,” (March for Our Lives Highlights). The students involved in the protests were not afraid to go straight at highly credible people, calling out anyone they felt necessary to help them get their points across. “To all the politicians out there, if you take money from the N.R.A., you have chosen death,” (March for Our Lives Highlights).
