Gun Control
Have you ever wondered why gun control is around and why people oppose or agree with it? Well gun control is the attempt to make laws on purchasing, selling, trading, and producing firearms. The Second Amendment is one of the reasons why people oppose or agree with gun control. The U.S. government had made many laws for gun control over the years (Benson). The third reason why people either oppose or side with gun control are the pros and cons in the past, such as how many deaths because of guns and how many deaths for not the use of guns to protect yourself. Many people oppose or agree for many reasons dealing with the Second with what Gun Control is.

A pro for gun control is some people believed only militias should have the possession of firearms (Benson). Another pro is In 1968 The Gun Control Act made further restrictions to guns (“Right”). The last pro is some communities have restricted the ownership of handguns (Zimring 441). A con is The National Firearms Act of 1934 allowed people to own a firearms (“Right”). The next con is a 2013 survey found that 30,000 to 40,000 guns were bought illegally (“Right”). Another con is there were 17,075 homicides counted in 1993 due to the possession of firearms (“Right”). In 1994, there were about 600,000 guns stolen from people (“Right”). Also, some people own guns for the protection of their homes. The National Rifle Association (NRA) opposes gun control laws, because they think all people should be able to own a gun for the protection of their self, family members, and others (Benson).
