Dear HCA Selection Committee,
“Wherever the art of medicine is loved, there is also a love of humanity.” This quote from Hippocrates, speaks to me because it illustrates the idea that medicine, healthcare, and kindness to others are truly key to healing people and improving humanity. This is the main reason I want to become a doctor. I have always wanted to help people in any way I could and being in healthcare is certainly a great way to do so. By having a health career, I could have the rare chance to save lives, which is something I have always desired to do. I could change the course of another person’s life, show an individual goodwill, and offer them a spark of hope. …show more content…

I hope that if I get into the academy, I can learn about additional careers in the healthcare field and investigate and encounter some unknown and captivating professions that could potentially be one of mine someday. My main occupation goal at the moment is a pediatrician, but I am open to learning about new healthcare careers or discovering new topics of interest. I am also excited to grasp and comprehend crucial concepts in Anatomy and Physiology so I can be one step ahead when I am in college. That course will hopefully be something I already understand in college. Another thing I want to take advantage of, if I am accepted into the academy, is to encounter new people who are looking into a similar career path as me. I want to meet new individuals who also have a passion and interest in healthcare so I can collaborate with them. I am also excited to go to healthcare facilities and see hands-on how people in the healthcare field go about their lives. Another experience I want to seize is the opportunity to find out before going to college if a healthcare profession is for me. HCA also can provide me with the opportunity of finding out if I want to invest in a healthcare program before going to college. Another worthwhile experience the Healthcare Academy offers is the ability to do an internship. An internship in the healthcare field is something that would set me apart from other contenders in competitive pre-med programs. To shadow someone and spend a duration of time in an internship in a healthcare field sounds like a fun and engaging experience to me. It could allow me to witness how a healthcare facility runs and what healthcare professionals do in their daily
