The values and vision of MEDEX is what draws me to this school and what makes it my top choice. Including the ideas and emphasis on compassion and outreach, in which, is part of the foundation of healthcare itself. The compassion I obtain and have received from various experiences is what drives my desire towards becoming a Physician Assistant. My medical mission to Haiti created a fire in me to need to travel to places where care is in high demand. I gained the understanding that when healthcare has the foundation of compassion it can bring forth a great sense of appreciation. This time has given me a glimpse of the rich culture and beauty that Arizona has to offer. I would love to live in the same area as my family, given the opportunity to attend school in Phoenix. To become a member of this community, abundant in agriculture and culture diversity, would be a tremendous opportunity. This would give me exposure to all various backgrounds and experience. My family's Native American background and the medically underserved reservations in my home state of Montana have both shown me how important preserving this culture should be to all of us. I look forward to the opportunity to work with the different cultures present in Arizona. I know that Arizona will provide me with the lifestyle I love. I cannot wait to work with the kind and welcoming people whose demeanor mirrors that of the northwest. The beautiful landscapes, wide variety of activities and hiking opportunities draw me to the state. I love thinking back of the time I have spent in Arizona with my family and friends and am excited to make my way back as a student of Northern Arizona and to serve Arizona as a future medical
