1. Even having prior knowledge about the HLM watching this movie really gave me an idea of how much of a struggle it is to live in the HLM. Watching this movie one major idea that I had developed is the fact that the ideology of the people living inside the HLM view life very negatively as compared to someone who would live outside in the HLM. Through out the movie the characters saw everything with a mind of struggle looking at everyone else as better off than they were which fueled their anger towards life. In the movie there was an on going fear that the people in the HLM’s would never make it out, it seemed that the only other option was to fight for themselves to become known and to give a voice to the desperate people of the HLM. From my prospective the filming of the movie was phenomenal. Starting off with the casting, the selection of the different variety of characters was a good choice because with in the views of the HLM there was a view of life from a Muslim, a Jew, and an African America prospective. Because of the variety of characters, each character also had a different reaction to situations, which made the movie more interesting. Though there was a lot of strong vulgarity I think it matched the vibe and setting of the movie well. It showed that the surroundings and the harshness of the HLM shaped the characters, which gave some authenticity to movie. The vulgarity also gave emotion and feeling to the characters responses. I felt that the order in which the events occurred in the movie also played a key role because it lured me in to the next scene wondering what was going to happen. Last but not least the filming of the movie was fantastic. I expected a grainy picture but it was clear and modern and was filmed in a realistic way almost as if from a first person prospective/view. I felt the way it was filmed was almost like propaganda in which everything filmed was planed: the sirens in the background, the dilapidated buildings, the aftermath mess of riots, the graffiti
