Who is Hades?
Hades was one of the main Greek gods; he was the God of the underworld and the ruler of the dead which allowed him to control the dead. He had two brothers, Zeus and Poseidon also the son of Cronus and Rhea. Hades father, Cronus swallowed his children as soon as they were born. Cronus believed that his own child is destined to overthrow him, as he overpowered his own father. However, he was unsuccessful in eating Zeus as he was able to get away from his father. When Zeus had grown up, he confronted Cronus and tricked him to make him vomit and made all the children safe and out of Cronus’ stomach.
Hades and his brothers decided to defeat Cronus, so he wasn’t able to eat the children again. After they defeated Cronus, they drew powers to control different parts of the earth. Zeus received …show more content…

Hades role as being the God of the underworld consisted of controlling the dead, he was able to resurrect the dead and command ghosts. However, his main responsibilities were to prevent escapes, or returns to the earth from the dead.

Hades and Persephone Myth
Hades fell in love with Persephone; daughter of Demeter, and decided the only way to have her for himself, was to abduct her. When Demeter realised that her daughter was missing, she began to worry, and she went looking for Persephone asking everyone if they had seen her, not knowing that Hades had taken her.
Persephone stayed with Hades in the underworld, however because she did not love him, she wanted to punish him for what he had done, she decided that she wouldn’t eat or drink to make him feel guilty about making her stay there with a man that she didn’t love and being forced to marry.

While Persephone was still with Hades, Demeter decided to speak to Helios the sun god, as he sees everything that happens and would know if Persephone was in danger.
Helios described to her what had happened to Persephone, and that Zeus had suggested to Hades that Persephone would be a good
