Stories from the Civil War often are told from a man's perspective and rarely from a woman's point of view. In 1902, Susie King Taylor wrote her memoir, Reminiscences of My Life in Camp with the 33d United States Colored Troops Late 1st S. C. Volunteers, to explain her role in the war as a wife to a soldier, the regiments' laundress, a teacher, and a nurse. Taylor is famously known for being the first black nurse during the Civil War, but her memoir gives historians a closer look at her life and multiple roles during the war. In 1848, Taylor was born into slavery in Savannah, Georgia.

The Pressure was high for the girls in the battle against Refugio. The team was up by 2, “It was a tough game,” Jurnee Peikert (9) said, “They definitely put up a fight”. Back and forth, the score for each team was neck and neck after each inning. No matter if they were on the field or in the dugout, the girls continued to support their teammates.
There is a lot of irony in "Camp Harmony" by Louis Fiset, including the name. Camp Harmony is a place where anyone with Japanese descendants would go to during World War 2. Camp Harmony, unlike its name is a place like hell, where there is no fun, just eat, sleep and try not to die. There is no "Harmony" in the place, as it is a concentration camp, many people were trapped inside the metal gates and not allowed to leave.
You think a coach would be someone who would mentor you, help you be the best you, and help you excel in the sport that you love. In the document Happy Valley that was not the case. Happy Valley is a documentary that was directed by Amir Bar-Lev in 2014; giving us the full details on Penn States Coach Jerry Sandusky when he was prosecuted for sexually abusing young kids over a long period of time leading up to his trial in 2011. Happy Valley is such a great documentary because throughout the movie it shows Ethos, Logos, Pathos, and Kairos that gets the views to feel the emotion and be able to see the facts. The thing this documentary had was Kairos.

Escape From Camp 14 reminds me of a time in my life during a football game. It was just after our away, sophomore, football game ,which ended at 6:00 pm, and we had to stay for the varsity game so it went till about 10:30 pm. I only had 5 dollars to spend, so after the football game I spent it on a slice of pizza and a gatorade, which was barely anything. That only lasted me about 15 minutes until I was hungry again. After a football game where I played non-stop I’d be very hungry.
The Powwow: A Culturally Significant Event On April 28th at 2 PM I volunteered to work at the powwow. The powwow holds a cultural significance for Native Americans and celebrates heritage. I observed a beautiful display of culture and I gained a real understanding of diversity. As someone from a Hispanic background I understand the significance of keeping culture alive.
The Museum Although the city of Chicago is usually associated with well-known historical events, such as the Chicago Fire for example, this wonderful city can also be attributed with hosting two unique and significant historical events—the World’s Fair of 1893 and the establishment of the original Field Museum in 1921. In addition to being held as an event to celebrate Christopher Columbus and the discovery of the “new world” in 1492, the Chicago World’s Fair—also commonly referred to as the World’s Columbian Exposition—was also an opportunity to celebrate art as a whole and to allow for inventors all around the globe to showcase their new devices and art. However, because the World’s Fair of 1983 was a one-time event and was, essentially,
During World War II there were camps across America that held Nazi prisoners of war. One of the more notable camps was Camp Aliceville located in Aliceville, Alabama. Prisoners at this camp were treated exceptionally well due to America following the rules of the Geneva Convention. This event in history is often compared to the way prisoners at Guantanamo Bay were treated in the early 2000’s. Nazi prisoners of war during World War II in America were treated much better than the prisoners of Guantanamo Bay.
Woodstock 1969 was one of the largest concerts of all time and a cultural benchmark for the late 1960s, while Woodstock 1999 was a disaster and marked the cultural end of the 1990s. They are both very well known concerts, but the memories of each are very different. Even though Woodstock 1969 positively affected the music world, Woodstock 1999 was a huge failure and greatly affected Woodstock’s reputation. Woodstock began on August 15,1969 and it lasted until August 18, 1969 (History).
In the past, Tyler the creator’s much of music has been ostracized from a large portion of the Hip Hop community. His first three projects were labeled by Hip Hop fans as, weird or mad. Some people even called it blasphemous or satanic music. The vast majority of the opinions made by people were from people with very basic understandings of what exactly Tyler was writing about, while others based their opinions off ignorance. Consequently, his music rarely made it to radio.
