She became very popular in the north and was compared to Moses who was in bible and saved many Jews from slavery in Egypt. She joined the Quaker volunteers to help fugitives escape from the confederacy army. She was very helpful and was at a very high rank in the army.
She realized that the time she spent in the railroad helped with her war skills which became very useful in the battles. She worked under a man named colonel Montgomory who was a union officer. She was a very good with helping and was asked to lead the soldiers up south to get back the slaves and get them to safety. She was admired for her help and was also a spy on her missions. She would get information she needed and then would bring it back to the union to give them the details also too steal all their weapons.
She guided colonel Montgomory along with the 150 soldiers through the river. She led the spys to the confederate base to take weapons from them and bring back slaves to free them and let them live a better life. She ended up bringing 700 to 800 labored slaves back up north and they helped with the army well some of them did. Some helped with the underground rail road and they stayed safe.
