Have you ever wanted to be in the 1660? What it would be like? Who you would meet? There was many thing going on in the 1660. Like the Navigation Act or, the French and Indian war. After the French and Indian war came, Pontiac's Rebellion and then the Proclamation of 1763. IN the next following year in 1764 the Sugar Act was now in place. Next was the Declaratory act then the Townsend then the Boston Massacre. Three years later was the Boston tea party. Then the last act was the Intolerable Acts in 1774. In a result of these the colonists started to smuggle items in and out of the colonies. Later on a Parliament was passed. Saying , all trade goods passed through english ports , were duties or import taxes. By now the colonist were extremely limited on what they cold do. Well before you pick a side you got to know what happened. The french and indian war started out in the Ohio River Valley. The french were in a fur trade, were the trade fur. But the british wanted not to just share the fur trade ,but own it. Which made the french furious, because they founded the fur trade and they were not just going to give it up that fast. So once they found this out, the war began. The war lasted through 1754-1763, so almost 10 years in the making. But it was finally over when the british won by gaining territory in Canada. The colonists were upset still cause they believe they had won the french and indian war. They felt they had no representation. So the phrase “No taxation without representation” was born. So the british had to pay for protection against the Natives. Samuel Adams founded the committee of correspondents, to improve communication among the colonies.
