According to Bank of Hawaii, their six core values are excellent, integrity, respect, innovation, commitment and Teamwork. I use to work for our local bank here in Honolulu called the Bank of Hawaii. Bank of Hawaii is the largest independent financial institution in Hawaii founded in 1897. For more than 100 years Bank of Hawaii has been helping corporations and individuals devise the most effective ways to give back to the community. They do that by giving through local foundations and private charitable trusts. It just shows how much Bank of Hawaii’s roots run deep and is committed to strengthening the island communities by giving back in any way possible.
The symbol of Bank of Hawaii is analyzed in so many different ways however it represents their purpose of action, “Live Kokua.” Kokua is the Hawaiian word for Help which means their ambition is to live to help others. The color blue on the logo represents one of the main colors in Hawaii for the blue skies which is the limitless measures they would go for not only their consumers, but for their community.
From the moment I joined until my last day with Bank of Hawaii, the company did whatever they could to take care of their employees as well. The steps starts as soon as the customers walks up to our window greeting them with Aloha and making sure we offer one of our products that can benefit them doing an account audit. We have mystery shoppers who randomly go to a window for their transaction and makes sure we are completing all the steps. At the end of the month, the employees who met all steps will get recognized and awarded at a quarterly dinner by our CEO. By living and giving Aloha for Bank of Hawaii, taking care of our customers is our ultimate
