In my estimation, although, he suffered from depression and was quite closed off, Beethoven is the greatest composer in European history because he developed his own style with his music, he had a natural gift, and he was very passionate. Some may argue, that because Beethoven was depressed and closed off, this ended up impacting his ability to write music.

Haydn’s father, Mathias Haydn, was an amateur musician, Haydn’s mother, Maria Koller, was a cook for the rich family in Rohrau. From early age Haydn demonstrated his musical talent quite early. As a five year old boy, he could sing all of his father’s simple pieces correctly.
