We are here to celebrate the life of a dear friend, mother, and grandmother sister Coralee White.

Due to the passing of his own mother, Bishop Pickering is attending to his family in Idaho, and has asked that I Josh Anderson conduct the memorial. It was with shock and sadness that I received a call on Tuesday Jan. 30th letting me know that Coralee had passed away.

I will read some of his remarks that he had prepared to give today.

“I am going to miss Sister White. She was a sweet lady, but never held back in telling me her opinion.” When he first met Coralee he “found out that we both grew up in southeastern Idaho and that Coralee was from Idaho Falls. …show more content…

Coralee knew that long before the Creation of this earth, our Heavenly Father provided a plan that made it possible for us, His children, to become like Him. This plan is called the plan of salvation. Understanding this plan gives us greater purpose in life.

Before this mortal life we lived with God as His spirit children, without physical bodies. We chose the Father’s plan, which included the Creation of this earth and provided us the opportunity to come here to gain a body, make choices, develop faith, and accept responsibility for our actions. “This life [was to become] a probationary state; a time to prepare to meet God.” (Alma 12:24.) This allows us to progress beyond what was possible in the spirit world when we lived with God.

Sin and death are also part of mortality. The Father sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to provide a way to overcome sin and death. This He did through an act called the Atonement. Through Christ’s atoning sacrifice we can repent of our sins and someday live with God and with our families forever.
