When he returned to resume the excavation of the site of Troy, the Ottoman Government delayed him by a law suit for half of the findings of Priam's Treasure after he broke an agreement made between them that he wouldn't take any of the artefacts from the country. The government used the court system to sue him and they received monetary compensation in which they had the right to as it is a part of their country's history.
