Henry Ford is considered as a person responsible for the transformation of the automobile from an invention of not much use to an innovation that continues to affect our lives even today.
Ford was born on Dearborn, Michigan on July 30th of 1863. He had a limited formal education, but when he was at a young age he demonstrated mechanical ability, facility for leadership and other characteristics of his that would make him successful. He taught himself to fix watches, and used the watches as textbooks to learn the rudiments of machine designs. His father was a farmer and he could have followed his footsteps but he loved machines and was willing to take risks to pursue his dream. Ford had one really important talent which was the ability to identify and attract outstanding people. He hired young, able men who believed in his vision and would make Ford Motor Company into one of the world’s greatest industrial companies. He himself spoke to Thomas Edison and Edison inspired him to create a better model than his previous one. In October of 1908 he presented the “Model T”. It was a really big success and Henry Ford began to have more orders than the company could supply. Meanwhile other cars had been introduced and Model T was beginning to decline and even Ford couldn’t deny it. The competition was really high. In 1927 he gave an end to his “Model T” and started designing a brand new car model. It was first introduced in December of 1927 and was way different and better than his previous model and called it “Model A” which was competitive for only 4 years before being replaced by a newer design. His last great automobile invention was at the age of 69 where Ford introduced the “lightweight and not expensive V8 engine. This still didn’t help to his company
