High school sports are not beneficial to students and just add more pressure. Many students participate in high school sports throughout their time in high school. Most of the sports can get very serious and a lot of pressure can be put on students to win games or get scholarships. Parents, coaches, and teammates can add to this pressure and can take away study time for student athletes. High school sports are not beneficial because they add too much pressure on students.

First off, parents, coaches, and teammates put too much pressure on winning. This statement is important because it shows the pressure that is put on student athletes to win. Whether it’s a game, match, or meet, the immense pressure put on students to win is not beneficial. Second, students aren’t able to focus on school work as much as they should. This detail is important because it reveals that student athletes have been more focused on sports rather than academics. Most people would confirm that academics should always come before sports. When students spend too much time playing and practicing sports, study time is taken away. For example, students may have to wake up early for morning practices and stay up late for evening practices leaving them unprepared for the test the next day and sleep deprived.To add on, concussions have tripled in the last …show more content…
