The Superintendent at Sault Area Public Schools is Dr. Tim Hall. Sault Area Public schools is the second largest public school district in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula with enrollment near 2400 students with a budget of just over $22 million dollars. Although the district not have a formal vision statement, Dr. Hall has shared his vision with the school over the past two schools years with a commitment vision. The idea behind the commitment statement is that “Every Child Will Learn,” with the concept focused on having educators push all students to learn something new each and school day.
Sault Area Public Schools does not use a formal vision statement for the entire district, but it does support its six school buildings in the commitment for high standards of learning. The evidence that the district does support its schools through the usage of highly detail school improvement plans that are monitored and implemented on a year to year schedule. The school district mission, (SAPS), in partnership with students, parents, and the community, will provide all students with opportunities to attain a high quality education in a safe, positive environment and to maximize their intellectual, physical, emotional, and social skills, preparing them to be productive, responsible citizens. The district mission clearly points to creating accountability for all stakeholders with the local education system, not placing the focus on one particular group such as the teachers or students. Within the district each of the six school buildings also has created their own mission statements that focus on the level of education that the school works
