The River Valley Civilizations of ancient China, Egypt and Mesopotamia were crucial contributions to future civilizations. They invented new ways of writing, laws to help keep civilization and society just and controlled and developed trade routes to help spread cultural diffusion. In documents 1 & 4, they talk about the two different types of writing, cuneiform and hieroglyphics. Cuneiform was the world’s first written language, created over 5,000 years ago by Sumerians.
There are several ways in which religion could affect the lives of its’ followers. Hinduism and Buddhism are both good examples of religions that prove this theory. Despite their similarities and differences in beliefs, both religions hold in common the impaction of religion upon their believers’ lives. Hinduism is a belief system that originated in India. Hindus believe in reincarnation, or the rebirth of the soul.
In “Juan Gines de Sepulveda Belittles the Indians” (1547), the author uses the rhetorical appeals of ethos and logos to prove to the Spanish that the Indians of the New World should accept and embrace Spanish rule. The most prominent rhetorical appeal used by the author is logos, it is present even in the first sentences of the passage. Sepulveda does not waste any time getting to his point, and begins with the statement, “The Spanish have a perfect right to rule those barbarians of the New World and the adjacent islands, who...are as inferior to the Spanish as children to adults,” (3). Immediately, logos is being used by using the analogy of the natives as children and the Spanish as adults. Obviously, everyone knows that adults are superior to children, and by using this analogy Sepulveda points out that the natives are as naive as children, and need the guidance
According to Sepulveda’s argument in “Prologue to the Members of the Congregation”, Indians during that time were classified as not humans. Humans are those who accept and follow the Christian faith, as well as, those who live in accordance with Natural Reason or Natural Law. Natural Law is the order of what are good and bad, also known as morals. In his 8th objection, Sepulveda explains that the Indians lack Natural Reason and publically endorse bad customs. By this he meant that they act savagely and animal like without a conscience.

As per Hindu mythology, Lord Brahma is considered to be the Creator of the Universe. He is the one among the Trimurti, the triad of 3 gods which consist of Lord Vishnu- the preserver, Lord Shiva- the destroyer and himself- the creator. Although, Lord Brahma is supposed to have been the creator of the universe, it is believed that he lost his worshippers due to lying hence, he was merely entrusted with task of creation under instructions of the other two gods. However, his role in the creation of everything that makes this world habitable like the creation of good and evil, gods and demons, man and ancestors cannot be completely forgotten and as a tribute to him there is a temple completely dedicated to him, located in the Rajasthani town of Pushkar. This temple of Lord Brahma in Pushkar is supposedly the only temple in the world which has been devoted solely to the Creator.
