What is subculture? It is the deviance of individuals conforming to the values and norms of a social group to which they belong, if one belongs to a social group whose norms differ from those of the main society then that person will become a deviant.
The current trend of subcultures in the fashion industry is to take the most popular part of the culture to maximize profits by using them in the current trend. Especially when looking at a subculture like hip-hop, which was a totally opposite culture to the business trend.
