Historical Events Should Be Taught In Today's Classroom

Historical events such as Truth’s speech and stories by Shakespeare should be taught in today’s classroom, because it tells is how much we achieved, and it is simply out history , and from that we need to take lessons. Students should be taught the role of women back in Shakespeare's time. They need to know how they were treated and thought about about by men. This way, the students can see how much history has evolved over the course of one-hundred years, and see what we achieved over those years. It doesn't have to be Shakespeare that does all the telling, other stories of speeches that include how America was. For example, Truth’s and Martin Luther King Jr. both tell us how things were for women and African Americans, and how they planned on changing that. Once our history has changed for the better, we need to know why and be grateful for what these people did to do that. …show more content…

We should know the mistakes of our world leaders and societies so we don’t make them again, and so we can prevent them from happening as well. Women and African Americans should be able to have rights, that is what e have been told all our lives, but just being told means nothing, we also need to know why and how these lessons being taught to us is important and why we should pass them down to generations. Students as a whole need to realize that they will soon be the leaders of our generations, which is why they need to be taught the mistakes that happened in our past, so we don't let them come back and repeat the horrible and sad
