HERITAGE FAIR TIMELINE In 1908, Saskatchewan Government Telephones (later called SaskTel) became a company. They founded SGT on June 12 in 1908. Dramatic changes happened to their business in 1909. When they bought out the bell company, the Saskatchewan Telephone Company and the Wapella-Harris Telephone Company, STG was rapidly growing.
Tyson’s Food History Tyson Foods was a family own company that was founded in 1931 by John W. Tyson who move from the East to the Midwest during the great depression, he was looking for a new opportunity to provide for his family, during the time of war world II there was a ration of food for the country but one thing that was not ration was poultry and that how Tyson foods started they started delivering chickens to the bigger super markets of the Midwest. The son of John Tyson started working on the family business as a general manager in 1963 he became the vice president of Tyson’s Foods, at the same time the company was introduce to the public and they started to package their product and selling with their name on the package instead
Introduction Verizon Communications started in 1984 as “Bell Atlantic” and one of the seven “Baby Sell”. In 2000, Bell Atlantic merged with independent phone company GTE Corporation and created the name "Verizon", a combination of VERITAS, the Latin word “ truth” and horizon, signifying forward-looking and visionary.(“Wiki”). “Verizon Wireless serves mobile phone, text message, and data services for smart phones, tablets, and computers, as well as wireless hotspot devices.” (“Wiki”). Verizon competes against other national wireless service providers, including AT&T, Sprint Nextel Corporation and T-Mobile USA, as well as various regional wireless service providers.
Verizon 2000 Strike and Postal Strike of 1970 The two strikes I chose were completely different situations. The first strike I chose was the U.S Postal Strike of 1970. The United States Postal Strike of 1970 lasted two weeks. It began in New York City and spread to other cities within the following two weeks.

Monopolies: The Trailblazers of America The second industrial revolution, spanning from the late 1800s to the early 1900s, was distinguished by rapid industrialization, economic upheaval, and the development of large monopolies. Small groups had total control of these monopolies and varied from many industries, the most well-known being oil, steel, and railroads. Although these monopolies had their faults, they have left a legacy on the American nation that has influenced almost every aspect of the United States today. These benefits include the growth of infrastructure on a national scale, the advancement of technology and innovation, and the cultivation of new business practices.

First day that school was held was October 26, 1910. A.K. Short was announced the school's first president. First day of classes at the Second District Agricultural School.

In chapter 5: The Peek-a-Boo World, Mr. Postman begins the chapter with a conversation of how the creation of the telegraph marked a radicle change in American society. He contends that: “The telegraph made a three-pronged attack on typography's definition of discourse, introducing on a large-scale irrelevance, impotence, and incoherence” (Postman, p.49). What Postman is arguing here that the Telegraph allowed context-free information to be tolerated by masses and turned into a commodity for one’s entertainment. These developments made during the Civil War were catalysts for the rise of Big Business due to a necessity for readily available goods and the advancement in number of workers available. Immigration also assisted in the advancement of Big Business because the number of people available to work supported the rapid urbanization and multiplying of factories. Lastly, the government’s pro-business standpoint propelled the urbanization and growth of technology that supported the new businesses. The need for more accessible goods, a better quality of life, and more effective technology caused the rise of Big Business in America around 1900, and the success of this movement
