In this essay, I will be telling you the theme of Holes by Louis Sachar. In my opinion, the theme is perserverence. In the book, the D-tent boys have to survive, escape, and take risks at Camp Greenlake. As Hector “Zero” Zeroni once said, “When you spend your life living in a hole, the only way you can go is up” (Sachar, pg 160). My first reason is that they have to survive at Camp Greenlake.
