The mission statement and values of Holy Family University exhibit many essential principles to both the administration and the world around us. These values, including family, respect, integrity, service and responsibility, learning, and vision can have a strong impact on the student body and our community. Students attending Holy Family can gain a full understanding of the fundamentals which contribute to the core values and the school itself. At least one of these core values can help you overcome a problem you may stumble upon from day to day. This can include helping another peer in one way or another in the classroom, showing respect to your professors and peers, and even taking part in the presidential election outside of school. The societal uproar of the November election is one way you can take the core value of service and responsibility into consideration. In the United States, voting is a duty of a citizen although not all citizens follow the voting process. Voting is a very important responsibility as a U.S. Citizen to participate in. This service contributes greatly towards an accurate candidate who can improve our country as a whole. This also gives us a voice in our government. In an election at times it is very close, this is why it is very important for everyone to cast a vote. Even one vote can make a difference in the candidate who is chosen. Those who do not vote abandon their duty as a citizen. Many citizens who do not vote or express their voice simply may or may not care about the outcome. Someone who doesn't vote. Each citizen has the right to express their opinion on which candidate would be the better choice. Although, without each citizen voting it does not help the decision to be made
