America. The land of the free. Of the equal. This was not always a true statement. While America claimed that all people were equal, black men and women were working for white families all over the place.
In the Empire of Illusion, author Chris Hedges begins the flow of his work with a claim that relatively can’t be argued with. Beginning with the imagery of America having an imperfect past, which only further backed his repetitive claim that it remains imperfect even now. He used extensive wording to inherently argue that America is drunk on the delusion of it’s own perfection, greatness, and above all still stumbling stupidly with it’s grip on declaration of being the best country on earth. The reality of his wording is blatant factoids of basic American functions that haven’t been functioning for a long time. Nothing in the beginning of his avow is deliberately a slap in the face, but rather the use of common discretions America has chosen to acknowledge in concept but avoid in practice.
America is exceptional, but it has not lived up to its full potential. America has achieved many great things, but has also managed to go too far and ruin what started out as a great idea. A prime example of what started out as a great idea but was then corrupted would be Americanization. America also fell short in the way workers were treated in its means of industrializing.
Blubber If an animal habitat is located in a cold, frosty area, such as the Arctic Circle, bearing with the weather could be a challenge. Many warm-blooded animals, such as whales and seals, rely on blubber to keep their body temperatures up. Whales, for example, are constantly swimming. They could not survive in the frigid water without their blubber protecting and keeping them warm.
Together we can change for the better. America is a country with many strong qualities. Although America is looked up to by countless countries, and idolized by outsiders looking in, for most of citizens that is not the case. We are a free country with many qualities still held from our founding fathers that were laid out
110 “America’s Gift to My Generation” The veterans are some of the greatest people in our country. The veterans fought, and some even died just to protect our country from war. They have given us so many gifts. Just like Herbert Hoover said, “My country owes me nothing.
What do you think of when you think of the land of America? John Winthrop once compared America to “A city on a Hill” (Artifact 1) Not only do Americans often have a superior attitude towards our neighboring countries, whether that attitude of superiority is righteous or not is in a way up to the eyes of the beholder, but other countries look up metaphorically to the light we shine and want to be included in our secrets. If America were a party, they would crave an invitation. They want to participate in the masterpiece which is the land of the free and the home of the brave. For as long as our country has been around it has been more than just a beautiful location to visit on vacations, it has almost in itself taken the identity of an idea.
Strong leadership, I believe, is the key to having a strong America. Throughout history, there has been leaders, good and bad, but I believe if the citizens have leaders that take into account their (the citizens) feelings and the wellbeing of the country as a whole, we can have a strong America. America cannot have just any type of leaders, there are some key aspects that the leaders should have in order to lead people (the citizens) efficiently. A leader should listen to others and their ideas; a leader should not boss people around but try to help people reach their potential and add value to them by encouraging them; a leader should also admit when they are wrong and learn from their mistakes so they can reevaluate everything and try to
Have you ever notice how people say “ The United States of America” like it was the best country in the whole world? I pretty much agree with that. People see the United States as if it was perfect, however, they never knew or know much about who are the heroes that helped our nation to be that perfect. One of is Abraham Lincoln, he was the 16th president of the United States and he is regarded one of America’s greatest hero due to his role as the Savior of the Union and emancipation of slaves. He helped the United States of America became united during the civil war, he also ended slavery, and lastly, he chose to lead his country into a better place and took the consequence of which is death.
America's Gift to My Generation America is a great place to live in, it has given many gifts to my generation. Yes there are good things in America, but there are also some things that make America not such a good place. Now I'm not saying that America is a horrible place, I know that I am lucky to be here, and that others would love to be able to live in a free country, but everything that is great always comes with a downfall. America is a wonderful place to live in, my generation has amazing healthcare that I am thankful for since back in the day others might not of been able to get ride of so many illnesses, and help people when they get injured, and other country's healthcare might not be as great as ours. The technology

America is the place that seems to give opportunities and equal changes to all. They have more freedom than others (but not total freedom). America is a united people working together. I believe America is a place where all people have a chance to succeed in life. I also believe that in America people have the freedom to stand up for their beliefs and fight for them.
Is America the greatest country in the world? Americans certainly seem to think so. America has fought in every major conflict since 1776. She has helped rebuilt nations, jumpstarted economies, fought against oppressive regimes, and been a global force for change.
It was once said that “America is the greatest, freest and most decent society in existence“. It is an oasis of goodness in a desert of cynicism and barbarism; this country, once an experiment unique in the world, is now the last best hope for the world“. Today, many Americans share these sentiments. In fact, for many, America is more than a country; it is also a philosophy and a way of life. Since its inception, the founding fathers believed that they could create a nation unlike any other.
When a person hears or sees the word America, what do they think? America is a country that almost everyone in the world knows about because there are certain words and phrases that can be used to describe it. Some common terms are sports, equality, the melting pot, powerful, freedom, hard working, and some more. All of these words make up what is known as the American Identity. This American Identity has been built up over time by people’s actions and thoughts.
