The presentation, Generations and the Next America, by Paul Taylor, provided great insight to how our country will continue to grow and change in the coming years. As the United States continues to go through changes in size and diversity, so do the demographics of the country. With each new generation, comes new behaviors and patterns, which will force society to accept more behaviors and lifestyles. The changes in demographics in the United States is good for the social climate. Less than 60 years ago, many of the behaviors and lifestyles that are accepted and recognized, were not.
Land of the free and home of the brave. America is a country that is known for its freedom worldwide. Many abandoned their own country in order to try and live a perfect life in America, where they will not be discriminated against no matter what nationality, sex or religion an individual is. America was not always this promising to minorities mid 1800’s. America had huge faults such as slavery which later was one of the reasons the north and south separated and went to war with each other.
It is very easy to take out country and or freedom for granted. For those of use that have always lived here and never seen anything different it is almost impossible to to fully realize how good we really have it. We were not given anything we have today however, it took an extreme amount of hard work and dedication by the leaders of our past. It is impossible to discuss how this country achieved what we have now today without talking about George Washington. Our first presidents, the man who really pulled our country together and helped lay the ground work that we still live by today.
The United States has always had a lot to be proud of. With features like beautiful landscapes from deserts and forests to mountains and snow, the infamous title of ‘land of the free,’ and of course there hard won independence-which they have always found worth celebrating. The United States serves as the world’s melting pot, where the traditions of different races, cultures, genders, social classes, and any other difference can all be found in one place, though maybe living their lives in many different ways. The United States had always shown promise for so many people.
The United States of America, one of the greatest countries on earth today. A place that 318.9 million people call their home. A country whose identity has been formed by a series of wars, people, political events, and more day in and day out. Going back to the earliest stage of America that we know, The French and Indian war was the first major war that started to create and form the America we know today. For over a century the French and British lived peacefully amongst one another in the new world.
Every immigrant has a story to tell, and whether they immigrated by themselves or with their families, they share the common reason to start a new beginning. Immigrants entering America from another country don’t always receive fair or equal treatment. Martin Luther King Jr. wrote in his essay, "Letter from Birmingham Jail", about many topics regarding equality between different ethnic groups. Even though King wrote about African-Americans and equal rights in America, he's expressing the same opinion about every individual who isn’t welcomed into their current country. He was known for being a promoter against unfair treatment and inequality.
We Americans take a lot of things for granted, running water, firefighters, police, military, shelter, food, college experience, family, safety from the biggest things to the smallest things, but mostly of freedom, to spend our money like we want
What Will America Be Remembered For? – Sean Smith INTRO When I was younger, the first few years of history class tended to gloss over most of history, leaving only a paragraph or two for each of the big players: Egyptians, Romans, Greeks, etc. What did I expect, we can’t teach kids all of history, we need to shrink every period down to small digestible bites. Here’s the question though: What will America’s paragraph read like?
Hard work because, America isn't how it is today without the hard work of her citizens. When America recently became a country, it got into wars. But since the soldiers worked hard to prevent America from becoming another country, America stayed the same. Teachers and mentors also work hard to make sure America’s children grow into well educated people. America’s athletes work hard to make America look good.
Americans have always been forward-thinking and embracing innovation and change. This has led to significant advancements in technology, medicine, and social justice, among other areas. Americans are always looking for ways to improve the world around them, and this mindset has resulted in some of the greatest achievements in human history. iProgress has been shown in the world. One example of that is women’s rights.
Everyone has the ability to go anywhere at any time and not fear for our lives. This is America’s gift to my generation because nobody in my generation has to fear that they will get hurt wherever they go. We get this right the second we become a citizen of the United States and nobody can take that away because America has given this
America’s gift to my generation is her flag. Each thing on her flag represents something different. America has presented us with her stars and stripes. Our country has given my generation her red, white, and blue. She has gifted us with herself.
Dear fellow nasty women and bad hombres, America is one the greatest experiments in freedom and liberty history has ever known. We are a nation that was built on the minds and ideals of immigrants. Our Founding Fathers created America so that everyone could have a chance at "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness". Those are aspects of my country, I would never change because they are what make us unique. The glow of America casts a ripple of hope upon those who struggle.
The America I believe in is the best place to be and we should never take what we have for granted but as a wise man always said, “you never know what you got, until it is gone”. Us Americans ourselves complain about every little thing that doesn 't go our way or other disgusting things such as judge others based on how much money they have. But I bet almost every single one of us would not even last twenty four hours in a Third World country. For then we would finally realize what we have and no longer take advantage of what we have here in America. Here everybody has equal opportunities to be successful in life, in which we are provided costless
Healthcare. We all need it, but we don't all have it, and because of that simple fact, we are one of the sickest countries in the industrial world. Our life expectancy for the first time ever is going down, not up. We have the highest maternal mortality rates in the industrial world. And the worst outcomes per cost anywhere.
