Now technically this story starts back in July of 2016 but in reality this story starts years ago. Ashley Gilmore is the most outgoing and fun loving person I have ever met. Ashley has been this way all throughout high school and I guess you could say I had a crush on her starting sometime during my junior year. Fast forwarding to July going into my senior year that crush turned into something more. Between both working at the pool and our friend group being together a lot we got to see a lot of eachother. As school had just started I really began to like Ashley and decided I should just take a chance and ask her to homecoming. I had always been pretty smooth when it came to talking to girls but with Ashley I was a nervous mess. She said yes and wow was I excited. I asked her about a month before the dance itself so for the next four weeks I was very confused. I clearly liked her alot but I had no clue if she felt the same way. Finally the dance rolled around and it went amazing, we had a very large group for pictures and dinner and the dance itself went very well, but it was not until after that things finally changed. We went to an after party and this is where I finally built up all the courage to tell Ashley I really felt. I was extremely nervous to do this but wow am I glad I did. I told her that I had liked her for a very long time now and I was tired of her not knowing. The conversation went better than I could have ever imagined. She told me how she had also felt the same way for the long time and just did not think I would feel the same.
