On September 9th Mayfield students danced the night away at this years Homecoming, “A Night in Crazy Town”. The gym was adorned with neon decorations and lights sure to leave every student with a memorable experience. The day before the dance at the annual Homecoming Assembly, Olivia Casey was crowned Homecoming Queen, while John Catalano was crowned Homecoming King. Olivia Casey described her experience by saying, “I feel honored and truly grateful to represent my class as the 2017 Homecoming Queen. Being voted as Queen made my four years at the high school even more special.” As for Homecoming Court, Genna DiPippo, Chloey DiBartolo, Tyler Klika, and Julianne Kerver were crowed princesses, while Joe Wargo, Anthony Fornaro, Ryan Evans, and Dominic Woods were crowned princes.

As for sports, it was another historic year for the varsity girls soccer team. The team finished the season with a record of 16-4-2, and were both conference and district champions. This year’s senior class should be commended for bringing home four district titles in four years—these district titles being the only four in school history. The girls season came to a close in the regional semifinals with a 2-1 loss to Hathaway Brown. The team was led by senior Captains: Jenna Rock, Tyler Klika, and Olivia Casey. …show more content…

Kassaie commented on going to states as a freshman as she said, “Going to states was a great experience, especially as a freshman. It was really cool playing at the Cincinnati Open courts since I’ve been watching my favorite professional tennis players play on those courts for years.
