law enforcement/homeland security, social work, and international relations have been my careers of interest over the years. Some of those jobs requires more of background than others. At this moment, I consider myself to be working on law enforcement/homeland. I am going to research two of my choice which is law enforcement/homeland security and social worker. I am going to look their similarities and the steps to get there.
Some similarities are to be able to understand and embrace the diversities simply because in the U.S., there are people from all over the world with different beliefs, political views, social, and ethnic. Working in law enforcement or in social work field, a person has to be able to understand people that are different than them. A person need to be more patient as they are dealing with people because sometimes it is more stressful to understand others. The other key to these two or any government position is that having misdemeanor or felony on the record can disqualify a person. This job is grade GS 09-11 and it does not require travel (Social Work). The same as the immigration officer job, this position requires background check and being a U.S. Citizen is a requirement. Having criminal records might disqualify the applicant. Benefits are similar to immigration officer position above as they both under federal employees. My target in Social Work field is to be able to work overseas. I do like to travel and learn about others culture. I speak different languages, and for that I think I can be able to use them while helping someone who is in need.
