I enjoyed listening to the speakers that spoke about “Health and People Experiencing Homelessness.” I was finally able to expand my thoughts and opinions. The nurses shared their passion for serving homeless individuals by bringing them together and learning about their needs. By doing this, the nurses were also bringing advocates such as students and teachers together and in the end, the main purpose was to serve the homeless and bring everyone together as a social intervention in order to better the community by lowering the rates of the homeless community (Stein and Renteln 2017). I am usually disgusted by the homeless, but this presentation has helped me to develop a better understanding. I am now able to understand that people become homeless for many reasons and some people enjoy living outdoors. Before the 1970s, homelessness was not viewed as a social issue. Civilians tend to feel insecure by the image of the homeless and they believe that the homeless degrades the image of the community. In order for readers to have an idea and a better understand of what a work entails, the author has to provide a background, analysis, setting, and the event this taking place in the work. Context provides clarity and helps to answer a reader’s question. Currently, we as students are currently conducting our research and without providing relevant information (context) to our topic, readers will not be able to understand our approach and findings. The information in our research needs to revolve around sub-headings such as: introduction, literature review, methodology, findings/analysis, and conclusion. These sub-headings not only help readers to have a better understand of one’s work, but it also helps them to develop more knowledge in organized and scholarly
