Innate, Genetic, Hormonal and Physical Factors The subject is currently 32 years old and convicted of 6 homicides. He was never married and was a drifter. Often selling himself in exchange for money and drugs with other men Although he denies being homosexual himself he also has a conceited hatred towards homosexuals. Early in the subject’s life he lived in an unstable home with his mother. There he was beat by his step father (at the time) to the point of unconscious. When the subject was seven he was taken from his mother’s home and placed with a foster family. The subject would have pent up feelings of aggression and go for walks brooding by himself and avoiding others. At this point the subject was suffering a combination of avoidance and passionate anger/contempt which is called Hot Hate. Although the subject mentioned he wanted to exact revenge on “All the people who ruined my life.” This is but one aspect to his motivation for killing. Subject lived in an unstable home with an alcoholic. Later in life he develops drug and alcohol abuse. Witnessing his mothers addiction contributed to a learnt behavior. Subject’s mother had multiple step fathers. He was traumatized by one of his step fathers beating him often to unconscious. These traumatic events added to psychological damaging for his hatred of older men looking like his father. Next, after being separated from his mother and moving to a foster home he never had much contact with his mother. Only have 3 times of contact. He would feel isolated and avoidant of others. When you look at Steinberg’s Theory of hate and anger, avoidance and pent up feelings became a factor that actually led to the next several years of his violent acts but that’s not all. Something to remember is that when he would brood by himself he tended to look into people’s homes to see how they lived. This is important because this possibly became a turning point that because he constantly wanted to live like other families and would make sense at to why he began burglering at the age of 10.
