The National Honor Society is built upon four founding principles: Scholarship, Character, Leadership, and Service. I have a high school life filled with dedication to these four principles on the Spiritual standpoint, the Familial level, the Community level and finally at the National level. Moreover, I did begin my dedication to these same four principles even before this starting with the Boy Scouts of America and this commitment will continue along with having a rich future when I reach my fullest potential. I firmly believe that to have academic excellence is giving your best effort to maintain not just having straight As and a high GPA at or close to the edge of attaining a 4.0, but to also have the skills that help you perform your very best in college and beyond. It is a great honor to be nominated as a member of the National Honor Society. There are many reasons why I want to take part in NHS. One reason why I want to be in it is to continue to grow academically with people who have the same goals as me. I want to be encouraged, not discouraged by the people around me. If I get into NHS, it will give me a lot of opportunities to be a leader.
National Junior Honors Society needs people who are hard working, and are ready to get the job done. I should be considered to be in National Junior Honors Society because I show scholarship and leadership, I have done many community service activities, and I show character and citizenship. I have done many activities involving scholarship and leadership. I am in violin, chorus, and other in-school and after school activities. This means I am familiar with other sides of school, and I can share my experiences and try to make them fit into what we do/what is done in NJHS.
A have been a member of the National Honor Society for three years. It has been a true honor to be a part of such a wonderful organization. NHS has taught me many qualities that I use everyday and plan to continue to use through the rest of my life. The National Honor Society is associated with the four pillars – Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character.
Henry Ford once said, “Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.” He believed that with determination, struggle, and intellect one can achieve the impossible. By the same token, my perseverance, dedication, and tenacity have allowed me to work with others to achieve a common goal. I strive to become a member of the National Honor Society because I possess qualities of the organization’s Character pillar, which is a worthwhile experience, and have a unique humanitarian service project idea that would follow the pillar of Service. By virtue of my trustworthiness, reliability, and courtesy towards others, I model traits of the National Honor Society's pillar of Character.
It is an honor to be nominated for the National Honor Society. The fact that I was nominated proves to me that all of my hard work and dedication has not been for nothing. The National Honor Society is known for recognizing students who strive to achieve their best not only in school but in themselves and the community. I believe that I’m one of those students. Based upon my last two year at Matawan Regional I now have a 3.9 GPA and am ranked in the top 20% of my graduating class.
Moreover, I have worked very hard throughout high school to better myself and those around me in the many ways mentioned above. I also serve as a role model, both inside the classroom and out, by pushing myself to accomplish goals even I do not always believe I could, always respecting others and listening attentively to the opinions of people around me, and making an effort to enrich the lives of others. I am hopeful the National Honor Society will help me develop this further, and thank you for taking hte time to read my application.
I am extremely honored to be eligible for this opportunity to apply for the National Honor Society. Becoming a member of the National Honor Society has been a goal I set for myself since I was a student in middle school. I have been greatly looking forward to this moment for a very long time. Overall, I have worked incredibly hard these last two years to display a positive character and obtain qualities such as leadership, responsibility, and scholarship. The first reason why I should be in National Junior Honor Society is because of my leadership skills. The first example of my leadership skills are applied to my youth group in the Cecilton Parish. I am the treasurer and help with the Ideas for fundraising. We, as a group held a spaghetti dinner for the church and I managed the money and the setting. Pursuing this further, I actively show leadership in school.
Dear NHS committee I'm writing to you today to tell you why I think I would be a great fit for the National Honor Society. I have always received honors and sometimes high honors throughout middle school, and now high school. Before I knew what the NHS was I didn’t know exactly how having good grades could benefit me. Now, I realize that the NHS is a great opportunity for me and my future. I’ve researched what the National Honor Society wants in its members, and I think I can offer exactly what they are looking for.
Today I am deeply humbled to be recognized as a potential member of the National Honor Society. To me this means I have exemplified everything you look for in a student who goes above and beyond, not just in academics but in athletics, the community and at home as well. I have not taken this selection for granted, as I believe would be a great asset to the National Honor Society. I am hardworking, honest, reliable and quite charismatic too. It is an extraordinary honor to be considered as a candidate for the National Honor Society. Being considered means I have achieved my goal in demonstrating my determination- in school and outside of school- and my willingness to aid people in my community. Being a part of such a prestigious organization is an enormous responsibility to which I will fully devote my time. Ever since I was a freshman, my goal was to work diligently to be among the highest scholars and to be accepted into this scholarly “hall of fame”.
