They were made from mud and vegetation that were anchored to the bottom of shallow lakes. These gardens grew crops such as maize, beans and squash, which were essential for their diet. These innovations allowed the Aztecs to feed a large population in a relatively small area, and their agricultural practices were a key factor in the success of their civilization.
In the Fertile Around 1500 BCE rain never fell over the mountains. In order to keep the crops and soil from drying out, irrigation canals were formed that brought water to the crops. Having water to irrigate the crops was able for the farmers to grow more, and make for food for people to eat. More food for people to eat was able to make the population grow. The canals also led to tanks to store water.

Most of the time, wheat and barley were kept since they could be stored for months and years without rotting. Even with the drought, humans developed a way to feed and entire village; they became the world’s first farmers. Unknowingly, humans back then would take the seeds from the tastiest and biggest crops and plant those seeds. By this process, humans had unconsciously domesticated plants and ended up growing plants that helped them. Regions where crops were a surplus usually ended up turning into a modern civilization.

The Hoh Native American tribe has lived amongst the Nature Bridge camp for many centuries and has many interesting topics to study such as the reservation, people, food, clothing, recreation, religion, myths and legends, the age of the tribe, and the important events on the history of the tribe. Because of these, the tribe is rich in history and culture, making it a great essay topic to study for my Nature Bridge trip of 2017. The Hoh generally live in the northwestern part of Washington, and they have an entire reservation where a majority of their population lives. This reservation is on the Pacific coast, on the mouth of the Hoh River.
They were surrounded by the Tigris and Euphrates river. The silt brought up by the two rivers guaranteed good farm land. That good farm land helped to create a surplus so Mesopotamians could trade crops for the resources they lacked. Even though the two rivers caused a lot of flooding, it helped the Mesopotamians develop ways to cope and devise methods to deal with the flooding.
This Native legend told by the Ojibwa tribe is about how the first dog came to Earth. It was told that two Ojibwa Indians got blown from their shore and reached an island where they met a giant. One day a evil spirit called Windigo came to the giant’s house, the giant took a giant bowl and stick and laid it on the floor, when he picked it up an animal that looked like a wolf was lying on the ground. Though it looked like a wolf the giant called it a dog. The dog attacked the evil spirit, and killed it.
It is believed that the ancestors of the modern Native Americans came over from Asia to what is now known as Alaska more than 12,000 years ago. The Native Americans were named “Indians” by Christopher Columbus around the year 1492. Columbus was sailing the Atlantic Ocean to India, when he reached an island near Florida he thought he reached the coast of India and named the people he met there Indians.
Native Americans Native Americans are very different from other tribes. They eat, live, dress and do many things differently. The things I’m going to be talking about in my interesting paper is What they eat? What they wear? Where they live?
