The Murder of Charles Lindberg Jr
A stormy night in Hopewell New Jersey, a baby gets kidnapped out of its nursery and nobody knows what happened. The baby is then found a few weeks later dead and its body decomposes. The supposed ‘kidnapper’ is not found until two years later. There is not much evidence to prove one person. Who could be the kidnapper? At around 8:30-9:30 pm on March 1, 1932, the ‘kidnappers’ climbed a ladder to the room of 20-month-old Charles Lindbergh Jr and kidnapped him in the Lindbergs' house in Hopewell, New Jersey. According to Wall Street journal.com, “When John Condom was asked to describe Cemetery John, he looked exactly like John Knoll.”This demonstrates the resemblance between one of the prime suspects. Cemetery John also was known to have a German accent. John Knoll was born in Germany and lived in a German neighborhood. According to the Los Angeles Times, “His handwriting matched the random notes more than Bruno's.” Since the handwriting matched more to John it's more directed to him. Also, according to the police at the time of the crime scene, there were 2 sets of footprints. Another piece of evidence supporting that Bruno was a part of the crime was the money found in his garage. The ransom money. Well, three weeks after the crime was committed, John Knoll had lots of money. He bought a vacation for himself and his wife and went to first class. For 700 dollars. That was 70 times the normal rent. With my two sources, I came to this conclusion because of how convenient the evidence was. John Knoll decided to go on a very expensive vacation three weeks after the kidnapping. All the sources give crucial evidence on how one of the kidnappers was not
