Although these kidnappings was devastating to the families who had lost their children, you probably would not have heard of the most infamous abduction…The Lindbergh Baby Kidnapping. Charles Augustus Lindbergh was a famous aviator known for being the first pilot to complete a solo transatlantic flight. Although Lindbergh’s life was full of excitement and fame, on the night of March 1st, 1932, everything took a turn for the worse. On that night, his only child, 20 months old was kidnapped, leaving the family heartbroken in tears. He also wasn’t very fluent in English which must have shown that his writing wasn’t very proper and must have been disorganized. Through further analysis of the note, the detectives uncovered many grammatical errors such as the dollar signs being in the front an also misspelled words. These misspelled words consisted of ours being “ouers,” later being , “ladder,” and where being,”were,”. This evidently tells us that Bruno Richard Hauptman must have crafted the ransom note.
