Background and Significance Even though there are recent tragedies that happened in the country that resulted on many fatal injuries due to gun violence, gun laws are basically remains unchanged. One of recent gun law that was passed was The Brady Handgun Violence Act that was signed by President Bill Clinton in 1993 that allowed a waiting period for criminal background check that dealers must perform before selling a handgun. However, an amendment was added to this bill which replaced the waiting period with National Instant Criminal Background Check System by licenses (Vizzard, 2015). The following year, The Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act became law.
I don’t want more crime just because people have stricter gun laws. Taking away guns may cause people to go to other ways of committing violent crimes. I also think if we have don’t have more gun control laws, then gun deaths would reduce dramatically. American children under age 15 were nine times more likely to die of a gun accident than children in other advanced wealthy countries. About 200 Americans go to emergency rooms every day with gunshot wounds (Frum).
On the other hand, those who oppose it claim those stricter gun laws will increase crime. It was found that between 1993 and 2003, gun ownership increased by 56 percent, yet gun violence decreased by almost 50 percent (Centers for Disease Control). Even

Making guns unavailable is only going to cause more crime. Criminals will not stop trying to get their hands on them, illegal or not. The government should not be able to take away our “freedoms”; gun control is one of them. Choosing to remove our weapons will only make our America a more hostile environment to live.
One argument for gun control is that gun levels affect the violent crimes rates. There have been several studies to determine if gun control laws actually decrease the levels of crime. However, it is impossible to accurately measure the changes over time of gun levels and crime because there 's no valid way to measure of these changes. In the past, the major gun control legislations that have been put into effect have not stopped people from obtaining firearms (Gun Control.) There have also been cases in the past where cities have attempted to ban handguns. After the ban was put into effect, murder rates tended to rise instead of drop, unlike what most people might assume. Crime rates and violence also skyrocketed after the bans were put into effect. Another problem with taking guns away, or banning them, is that the government cannot expect everyone to abide by the laws.
Gun laws raise the rates of many different types of crimes in America. “Between 1980 and 2009, states with more restrictive concealed weapon laws had 10% higher crime rates” (Lott, Jr.). The occurrence of higher crime in states with stricter gun laws shows that restrictions against firearms actually have a negative effect on crime. Criminal actions like auto theft in cities have become more frequent as stricter gun regulations take place (Mustard). These crimes are the cause of new laws that prevent the carry of concealed weapons since there is nothing that people have to defend themselves with.
Because there has been a lot of violence lately, the world needs more peace. Many of people’s lives should not have been taken. The police are taking people’s lives, and the families are very hurt by it. Although there is many lighter-skinned people that have been shot by police, there have lately been more darker-skinned people shot by police. I think the world needs to get rid of gun violence.

Loopholes now exist in the background check system that make it possible for people with criminal records or mental health issues to procure guns. For instance, a gun purchased over the Internet or from a private individual at a gun show is not subject to a background check because neither instance involves licensed gun sellers.
Gun control is a prevalent topic that in the United States and has been the cause for safety in our society. The moral acts of the younger generation have impacted this millenial in many ways and the youth are beginning to become increasing more exoitic in their actions. Over time, our nation is increasingly developing into a society who are adapting to acts of violence that have been primarily through the use of guns. Throughout years of innovation, in which the young generation have been exposed to and one of the items youth have become familiar with guns. Morality plays a pivotal role in the way people conduct their themselves especially when in the presence of a weapon, and these actions will contribute to the future of our nation.

Citizens of the United States are promised the the right to bear arms in the Constitution, and by applying gun control laws takes away that same right. Crime is high enough in cities with very few laws pertaining to gun control, but taking guns away from people who are registered with license will not solve the problem either. Placing more limitations on gun owners, particularly responsible gun owners, will not reduce gun violence.
