The Industrial Revolution, lasting from the late 1700s until the early 1900s, was possibly one of the greatest time periods in this world’s history. This time period caused people to think more and dream bigger. From these big dreams rose up inventors, entrepreneurs, and business owners. The Industrial Revolution brought many new inventions and production processes, but along with great new things come great terrible horrors. While some might argue that Industrialization had primarily positive consequences for society because of the new production methods and what they produced, it was actually a negative thing for society.
“The most important of the changes that brought about the Industrial Revolution were (1) the invention of machines to do the work of hand tools; (2) the use of steam, and later of other kinds of power, in place of the muscles of human beings and of animals; and (3) the adoption of the factory system” (Industrial Revolution). The Industrial Revolution was a big event that happened in Europe. Those three main changes impacted everything in a huge way. The Industrial Revolution in Europe was a positive occurrence that changed how products were made and how people lived their everyday lives.
Effects of the Industrial Revolution The Industrial Revolution was an important event in history. It brought about many positives during its time. For instance, kids were well fed, educated, and clothed. There were plenty of negatives, as well. One very sad example was the machine injuries that happened to both children and adults.
The Industrial Revolution was a period where factories were enhanced and new luxuries were created, some of the luxuries are still used today! This Technological Revolution was a generation where Industrialization began, which was the development of factories and other human resources. The Industrial Revolution included many positive and negative effects for citizens, but for factory workers it was mainly negative. During The Industrial Revolution, citizens were forced to work in polluted factories with dangerous and terrible conditions.
The Industrial revolution contributed to better living conditions and better economic status. It sparked many cultural, social, and economic changes throughout the United States and Europe from the 18th to the 19th century. Vital inventions that contributed to modern technology can be seen emerging like the steam engine, light bulb, and the telegraph. More jobs opened up for the poor helping the economy boom, and living conditions overall were improved. The industrial revolution had a good effect on the typical worker at this time.
The Industrial Revolution was a life changing time. As the world changed in many ways, so did the community and the people that lived in it. There was so much good, yet so much bad that occurred all at one. While some might argue that Industrialization had primarily negative consequences for society because of the filthy and dangerous work places and cities, it was actually a positive thing for society. Industrialization positive effects were increased productivity, technological advancements, and worker reforms.
The Industrial Revolution’s effects can be argued either way for the better or the worse. Many people have their different opinions. While some might argue that Industrialization had primarily negative effects for the society because of the horrendous living and hazardous working conditions, it was actually a positive thing for the society. Industrialization’s positive effects included economic growth, new inventions that increased productivity, and a higher standard of living helped people live better and more efficiently.
It has improved children’s working conditions by creating new laws, making quicker production of resources with new machinery, and created clean living conditions for people among others. This is important to know because industrialization has such a big impact on the world. Some people can argue that industrialization had a negative impact on people during that time period. Despite this reason, we have made so many advancements because of the industrial revolution. The machines we have now help us to mass produce goods which contribute to the wealth of many countries.
The industrial revolution increased steel production which allowed the US to make a profit from trading and use the steel to improve transportation, farming and buildings. Industrial cities had many factories that burned coal which caused air pollution and increased steel production led to increased coal usage. Workers in the factories had dangerous, long work hours that they couldn’t protest. The industrial revolution had a large impact on working conditions at the time. Workers had to sign a yellow dog contract which prevented them from protesting unfair treatment and limited their freedom of speech.
Luke Browning Industrial Revolution The Industrial Revolution began in 1770 and lasted till the early 1900s. It was a time when people were working in factories instead of farming. People moved from the farm areas to cities. Some cities even got so crowded people started to die because of unclean water and living conditions.
One of the main issues inflicted by the industrialization of Britain was pollution, more specifically air pollution. “Air pollution continued to rise in the 1800s, causing respiratory illness and higher death rates in areas that burned more coal” (7 Negative). The key disturbance occurring during the industrial revolution was the mass amount of air pollution, the death rates in areas with more coal burning contributed to many losing their lives at the expense of modernization. However, this fact is not enough to deem the industrial revolution as detrimental, the number of deaths endured during industrialization was unpreventable as it was required to advance the world. Another counterargument that questions the positive impact of industrialization could be the conditions workers had to endure.
Something that was good about the industrial revolution was that there was more workers and people could get payed more. Things that were bad was that little kids could. That’s bad because kid get hurt for example, for kids who worked on farms would ride on horse rakes and easily fall off and get crushed. Kids would get overworked after working 12 hours a day.
The Industrial Revolution was a time of exponential growth in the world. This time included the invention of modern machinery, and modern techniques that is used in everyday life today. Although there were many benefits to come out of the industrial revolution, there were just as many problems with the industrial revolution. There are many great things that came out of the Industrial Revolution, one of the biggest being the increased production rate. Due to inventions such as the steam engine, it decreased the time of making products which in turn, raised the economical state of America.
The Industrial Revolution made radical changes in the lives of many individuals during this time. It divided the population into 3 groups: the children and the working class who suffered the most hardships, and the middle class who benefited from it. The middle class had slightly more pleasant experiences than the children and working class of the industrial revolution. The middle class included factory owners, doctors, lawyers, and skilled workers.
A major debate among Historians is if the Industrial Revolution was helpful or harmful. The industrial revolution created a big change in the society of America. It was an age of innovation and creativeness for the inventors of the world. It was an age of sorrow and despair for the workers of the world.
