Person: Adolf Hitler Adolf Hitler was born on April 20, 1889. He would grow up to be one of the most influential people in history, and this can be seen through the actions that he took throughout his lifetime. The main actions that Adolf Hitler did that shaped history was being elected chancellor of Germany and eventually rebuilding the country, causing the start of World War II, and being the cause of the Holocaust. For example, after World War I, the people of Germany were experiencing extreme financial hardship due to the sinking debt that the country was in from the Treaty of Versailles. For one, he was basically the cause of World War II. By creating tensions between Germany and the other countries in the world, Hitler provoked another World War, which brought death, destruction, and other horrible consequences for the entire world. The consequences of the war can even be seen today, such as the debt that Germany still has to pay off, the creation of the United Nations, to prevent another world war, and other lasting outcomes of the war. Hitler was also the cause of the Holocaust, which was a terrible event in the history of the world, especially for the Jewish population. Hitler had brainwashed his people into thinking that Jews were the scum of the Earth and they also truly believed that the Jewish people were the cause of the downfall of Germany. An estimated 6 million Jews died during the Holocaust, and the memories of those lost during this event still linger today. It can clearly be seen that, through his actions and the results of those actions, Hitler had an extremely negative impact on the world, and can be seen in world history as a very evil person with no regard to innocent human …show more content…

After a while, the French couldn’t fund the project anymore, so the U.S. took control of building the canal, and retained ownership of it for some time after the building was finished. Eventually, the U.S. gave ownership of the canal back to Panama, the country in which the canal was built.
What: As already stated, this event focuses on the building of the Panama Canal. The Panama Canal is located in the country of Panama, and provides a shortcut for ships to travel from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean, and vice versa. The canal goes straight through Panama, making for a total length of 51 miles, and it’s about 110 feet wide. A series of locks raise and lower ships to allow them to travel smoothly throughout the Canal. On top of the locks, there is also a lake named Gatun Lake, as well as a cut named the Culebra Cut, that the ships transiting the Panama Canal travel through.
When: The French started the construction of the canal in 1881, and the U.S. gained ownership of the project in 1904. The U.S. finished building the Panama Canal in 1914, and held ownership of the canal until 1999. During that year, the U.S. gave ownership of the canal back to the government of Panama.
Where: The Canal is located in the country of Panama. Panama is the most Southern country in Central America, right next to South
