How Did American Settlers Influence Today's Government

Early European settlers have landed along shore of the east coast. Originally they were sent there to explore the land, however they soon found out how profitable the land was. European settlers began creating stable housing. They had thought they were the first to settle there but, they didn’t realize there were native americans who had already created their homes there. European settlers began to realize that they did not want to be controlled by Britain, and the founding fathers helped push and guide us to what we now have as a democracy. I believe that early settlers had a huge impact on the formation of today’s government but we also took ideas from the Haudenosaunee. The founding fathers have done many historical things. Many people such as George Washington have signed many historical documents, advocated for our freedom and independence. George Washington is considered to be the first United States president and set many ideas that followed future presidents for years to come. He fought the Lexington and Concord battle and also the Boston Tea Party. George Washington was against the Boston Tea Party but the Boston Tea Party wasn’t necessarily an act against the people, but more against the government. Similarities of the two governments would consist of a three part government, Clan Mothers, Chiefs and also the Faith Keepers. Chiefs act as a vice presidents, with a little more control. You can think of the Chief as second in command. Clan Mothers act as the president. The reasoning behind this is because the Clan Mother gets the last and final say. According to Frieta Chakk Clan mothers have this power because they are suppose to know the character of all the people in the nation.
