Andrew Carnegie, the richest American of his era, wrote a document named Wealth in 1889. In this document, Andrew Carnegie addressed the well-educated and richest businessmen of society of that point in time.
As the leading industrialist, Andrew Carnegie knew about industrial workers issues and hardship they faced for not being able to afford for their families. In this document he is suggesting that wealthy businessmen use their wealth to serve the common man.
Andrew Carnegie believed that money from wealthy men should be used for projects that would benefit the society. As a power of major business was growing, the difference between rich and poor was great concern for the government. He emphasized that giving money away to the poor will not bring any benefit to people in need, but if you use this money to build schools, libraries, or parks, then it will improve the overall lifestyle of the underprivileged. It would improve their thinking abilities and improve their general condition. Andrew Carnegie always had an eye to bring change that will be the permanent solution for the ongoing issue. He believed that civilized and rich men can bring change in society, which will highly valuable for the Progress of the people. He believed that the change could be good or bad, but we should accept this change and stop criticizing the outcomes.
