Dictatorship is when a certain person or a small group control everybody in the country. (Encyclopedia Britannica) Dictatorship makes it so the leader controls what the people do. This also includes Communist Dictatorships like the Soviet Union. Our colony is strongly against dictatorship because there is always someone that has too much power when everybody else has no freedom to question it whatsoever. In Earth’s past whenever they had dictators they usually threatened the world.
Dictatorship was a different type of government than Germany and Italy had experienced , and was made possible by several factors. Italy joined the allies side, which had won World War I in 1918. However, they didn’t receive any promised territory, and their country had suffered.
Totalitarianism is when the government controls every aspect of the public and private sectors. It means to erase the line that separates government and society. There were three leaders known to fit the mold of totalitarians. Adolph Hitler of Germany, Benito Mussolini of Italy, and Joseph Stalin of the Soviet Union.

This sent all these countries into poverty and their countries were looking for answers. In a desperate time, the people from these three nations put totalitarian leaders into power in hope for fast change. When in power these leaders became dictators and did everything they could to ensure stability and loyalty to their leadership. During the interwar years, leaders rose and maintained power through the use of force and manipulation to eliminate all opposing options.
Trujillo vs. Hitler The definition of a dictator is a ruler with complete and absolute power over a country that is usually received forcefully. Adolf Hitler and Rafael Trujillo are two examples of powerful dictators that impacted their country immensely. During their reins of power, German and Dominican people were abused, manipulated, and many were killed. Hitler and Trujillo have several similarities on how they dictated; although, the ways in which they chose to use their power differed.

For over 125 years, Americans were used to an economic system where they kept all of their earnings, and the economy was not regulated by the government. The United States government run on free markets and free enterprise.
Mussolini, Hitler, and Stalin used a mass of terror to get the people to do what the wanted them to do. Terror means to use violence and provide a threat to the people giving fear so that they will obey the state. The way Mussolini used terror on the people was if someone opposed Mussolini were severely tortured and imprisoned. Many were sentenced to exiled for life. Hitler was the dictator most known to use a great amount of terror on the people.
In a fascist government there is usually a dictator who leads the government that rise into power and usually have some sort of military or political background. The dictator has complete control in the government and holds all power and authority within the state and can stay in power for as long as they like. This type of leader is very different than a president or prime minister because they aren't elected and they have no limitations on the amount of power they have or can use. They have this power because in a fascist government there are no checks and balances on power of the leader. There are no restrictions or limitations whatsoever, the power is all located in one party and if there is voting it is made by the head party and the people can either vote for whoever the party wants or not vote at all.
The example i used from freshman year is Animal farm. The animals wanted to get back at the farmer and all planned to attack him. They soon became the rulers of that farm. After Old Major died, Napoleon and Snowball made an attempt to rule over the farm. Both of their ways were very controlling so their type of leadership would be considered as dictatorship.
A dictatorship is government ruled where one or more than one group is in full control over every aspect of government. It’s the absolute rule made my one person over many people that the government oversees. Now with the way dictatorship is set up, democracy and people’s opinions are hard to come by. This idea that every dictatorship is evil isn’t always the case. There are such things as a good dictator who listens to the people, but that is very rare.
Communism is similar to fascism,because in both theory and practice. The difference in the both is that Fascism is established in nationalism and worked towards to create a socialist utopia. Communism is a political theory derived from Karl Marx,advocating class war leading to a society,and also property is publicly owned and each person works and is also paid according to their abilities and needs. Communism involved the emphasis on the common good by seizing private property and distributing it among the masses in order to create state-owned property, whereas fascism involved the complete rule of a dictator by forcibly suppressing the opposition with an emphasis on nationalism and sometimes racism. The most popular example of communism was the Soviet Union, but many smaller countries possessed the Soviet Union’s communist influence. The two most popular examples of fascist style governments include Hitler’s Nazism in Germany, which had an emphasis on racism, and Mussolini’s fascist state in Italy. The fascist leaders made people are the subject to the government, and limit the independency of the people, in order to gain the better for the nation. This is somehow similar to absolutism of western Europe during 17th and 18th century. Absolutism had given the monarch absolute power to rule over people, while fascism had given the leader and the nation the power to rule over the people of the state. Moreover, fascism had denied the democratic parliament system, and had only allowed the “elite” to rule over the country.
