Bilbo fails to steal a bag from a Troll’s pocket when he was told to observe the red light from the dwarves’ camp. (43) From this failure, the dwarves begin to doubt his usefulness as a burglar, causing him to lose faith in himself. As time progresses, Bilbo proves to the dwarves, especially Thorin, and himself of what he is capable of. He gains confidence with the defeat of each of his enemies.
Over time the hobbit gains his courage, becomes braver, and portrays acts of heroism. For example, when the giant spiders almost eat the dwarves, Bilbo distracts the spiders and cuts the dwarves out
One thing that he finds is the archestone. To begin, Bilbo Baggins is one of the main characters throughout the story. Bilbo becomes a hero by saving many characters lifes. The way that Bilbo becomes a hero is when he saves the dwarves from the spiders. “Then the spider jumped back, and he had time to cut his legs loose, after that it was his turn to attack”.
The dwarves gets lost in the woods and lose each other while getting captured by the spiders. Bilbo does not get captured, and looks for the dwarves. He says the dwarves from the spiders, and they keep on moving. The company gets captured again, but it is by the same wood elves who captured Thorin. Bilbo quickly puts on his ring and disappears.
Along the way, they overcome many obstacles that threaten their lives and put their trust for one another to the test. Bilbo learns that there is more to him than he realizes and through hard work and dedication, he can accomplish almost anything. Overcoming these problems and learning more about himself helped Bilbo change from an ordinary, self-doubting hobbit into a clever, courage-filled, loyal hero. In the beginning, Bilbo has no desire to go on an adventure of any kind, but he quickly learns about the cleverness he obtains when he is forced to make quick decisions.
This event is saving the dwarves from the prison. In chapter nine of the, The Hobbit, Bilbo hides for two weeks, finds Thorin, and speaks about his plan which was to put the dwarves in empty wine barrels and send them to Lake town. After a while, the group agrees to this plan, Bilbo gets the keys to the cells from a drunk guard and clings on to one of the barrels the dwarves were hiding in. This information makes this hobbit an unexpected hero because a hobbit Bilbo risked his life for the safety of his friends, which most heroes do, but the thing is is Bilbo is a tiny hobbit who usually follows the same routine. Bilbo did something you wouldn’t think a hobbit would do by saving the
Bilbo risks his own life to save the dwarves many times during the adventure, which in turn gains him the respect he deserves. This new respect that Bilbo has acquires gives him plenty of confidence in himself to get the job done, whatever it may be. This clearly shows that Bilbo's change from being ridiculed and doubted by the dwarves to being very highly respected is a dramatic one and deserves recognition. All Bilbo needed is a chance to prove the dwarves wrong, and that is what he gets when those same dwarves appear on his doorstep that sunny afternoon. Along with Bilbo Baggins becoming a braver and more respected hobbit, he also develops the most important change in the story; he changes from being incompetent to very resourceful.
The dwarves raid is home and act like they are living there, thus not giving a very good first impression. Bilbo just wishes for them to leave so he can get back to his boring
The journey that Bilbo endures transforms him into a hero. Bilbo encounters many tests and trials throughout the story which reveal character. These courageous actions display the heroic character of Bilbo. Throughout The Hobbit, Bilbo displays the universal message that anyone can develop into a hero. Even the smallest and seemingly weakest creatures and people can become as great as Bilbo.
Bilbo’s third trial is finding a way for the dwarves to escape the wood-elves palace. When the guard is drunk, Bilbo lets the dwarves out by stealing the keys and pushing the dwarves into barrels. After a hero’s many trials, they face their ultimate enemy, and for Bilbo that is Smaug, the dragon. Smaug shares qualities from the other does Bilbo faced, but with more powers and fearsomeness. Facing many new enemies in his trials, they all leave Bilbo something in return for defeating them such as the knowledge that no adventurer will be left behind, courage and respect from the dwarves as he helped set them free when all hope seemed to be lost, confidence and willingness to fight and lastly, the knowledge that while his friends can protect him, he can protect his friends.

His main goal is to go and help Thorin and company steal treasure from Smaug, the dragon. Although this is Bilbo’s role he is a hero because of his honesty.

Bilbo baggins is a person that sometimes like to stay inside of his house and sometimes go outside, so one day these dwarfs had kept on knocking at his door one or two at a time asking for food and for him to be the 14th dwarf. One day he get used to the dwarf sand go on a lot of adventures with them. then one day they had ended up getting caught by the elves. The elves had took them to jail but they did not take bilbo because he was invisible so he follows them to see where they were going. The next day he goes to the same place that the elves took them and when he was on the way there he had to stop and get them some food.
