He could have simply worked on making better legs on a different animal such as a dog, or simply just improve his one prosthetic leg. To be ethic is to know, and use your virtues. Charlie Gordon doctors did not act ethically when they preformed the surgery to make him smarter. They didn’t inform him on many mishaps that could happen during the procedure, or many other things. They failed to inform him what the out come could be in every case. The doctors were most care of the procedure, that they didn’t care to tell or warn Charlie in any sort of way.
The case of Robert Alton Harris, a convicted murderer who was executed in 1992 for his crimes, raises profound questions about free will and moral responsibility. The story of Charlie is a fantastic one. Interesting, heartwarming, and tragic all at the same time. The author does a great job incorporating the concept of maintaining your identity into the short story about a First Nations boy and his escape from residential school. Based on my understanding of identity, I strongly feel that the author was indeed trying to relay a message in regards to the importance of knowing who you are and holding on to that. What leads me to confidently believe that identity is the message is are Charlie’s roots, daydreams, and also his death.
What Kind of Hero is Charlie? Charlie’s qualities exemplify him as a modern hero because he has no sense of community and the world he lives in is unsafe. One example of Charlie, having no sense of community's is due to his mental disability. Therefore, it's hard for him to interact with other people. Since it's hard for Charlie to interact with other people, he feels like he has no meaning in life.
Evolution is the development and change within heritable traits of different populations over generations. Over the years, humans have begun to invent things and change around their environment (the world) to suit their needs. With this is mind, we humans have not been paying attention to how these changes are affecting our evolution as a species.
