The Classical Greek notion of democracy remains a basic foundation of modern Western administration, with many democratic societies embracing comparable concepts of participation and representation.
Moreover, Ancient Greek influence may be recognized in Western education. The Greek philosopher Socrates is noted for his revolutionary teaching techniques that encouraged critical thinking, questioning, and discussion (Gill, 2019). These pedagogical techniques have left an indelible mark on Western education. The Socratic method is still employed in modern educational contexts to cultivate critical thinking abilities and promote active participation in the learning process. Furthermore, the Greek focus on the quest for knowledge and the value of intellectual inquiry inspired Western educational institutions, influencing the development of subjects such as philosophy, science, and medicine (Gill, 2019).
