After doing a little research on Presley, I realized that without him and his first album “Elvis Presley” we would not have many of the great artists that we have today which include artists like the Beatles. Elvis Presley’s was known as “The King of Rock N Roll” for a very good reason. His first album spent ten weeks at number one. It was also the first Rock and Roll album to ever make it to the top charts. There is no doubt that this album as well as Elvis himself has contributed to the history of modern popular music in the United States.

Before this Beatles album was created mainstream pop music was not taken very seriously. Many people looked at mainstream pop as something that was silly and made only for teenagers. However, after this album was created it changed the way people looked at pop music. Along with the fact that this album changed pop music, it also spent 15 weeks at number one in the United States, and won four Grammys, including album of the year. I truly believe that without this album and without the Beatles pop and rock music would absolutely not be where it is today.

The one thing that stood out to me when listening to this album is that it contains multiple genres: country, rock and roll, gospel, soul, and blues.
