George Soros is one of the world’s foremost philanthropists, having given away more than $12 billion to various charities and organizations to date. His funding has supported individuals and firms across the world fighting for accountable governments, transparency and freedom of expression for societies that promote equality and justice. George Soros giving has always focused on discrimination.
Born in Hungary in 1930, he lived through the Nazi occupation of 1944-5 which led to the murder of over 500,000 Hungarian Jews.
