Born in Woolsthorpe, England he was known as one of the greatest minds of the 17th century Scientific Revolution. With discoveries in optics, motion and mathematics, Newton developed the principles of modern physics. In 1687 he published one of his most famous works “Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica (Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy)”, which has been called one of the most influential books in physics.
Newton is best known for his contribution to physics, however the list goes on. He developed three laws of motion: the law of inertia. the law of acceleration, and the law of action.
