When you hear of Isaac Newton, it is easy for one’s mind to recall the various lows of physics and the story of the apple falling from the tree. However, Isaac Newton is considered one of the greatest names in history. He was a philosopher, mathematician, scientist and an astronomer amongst a few practices. Isaac Newton is known best for his interpretation on the law of gravity and the laws of motion. Newton played a vital part in the foundation of scientific revolution in which modern science is heavily based upon. For a period of less than two years, Newton began revolutionary advances in mathematics and other areas such as optics, physics, and astronomy (O’Connor and Robertson). In 1687, Newton’s most important book was written. It was titled Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy. This book was proven to be influential in the history of science. In his writings, Newton asserted the three Laws of Motion. Newton’s theory elaborated Kepler's laws of motion as well as stating the Law of Gravitation. In writing this book, it allowed Newton to reach his conclusions he used in his observations of planetary motion.
